Facsimiles + Fits
This project spanned the length of a semester, each section dealing with ideas of interpretation of the world around us and exploration of perception of reality and everyday objects. The goal was to utilize a multitude of tools, discovering new ways of making and conveying information, both physically and digitally.
Timeline: August 2024 - December 2024
Course: Product Studio 1 [Facsimiles + Fits]
Tools: Adobe creative suite, Rhino 3D, wood shop, laser cutter, Nikon Z50
This project explored visual, material, and conceptual interpretations of everyday objects through facsimiles, models, textures, images, and mixed-media representations.
EX01: Facsimiles + Twinning
By testing both accurate and imperfect translations, we examined how materiality and representation can reshape the identity and perception of an object.
EX02: Translations + Fits
Through examining use cases, environment, and physical construction of a hand made ceramic mug, I developed a new visual cadence for how the viewer may interpret the object.
